DIAMOND project has been represented at the workshop “Gender Bias in Artificial Intelligence in Transport” organised by the International Transport Forum (ITF) and celebrated virtually on March 29th.
The workshop, organised within the ITF Corporate Partnership Board, counted with the participation of DIAMOND’s partners Dr. Ricard Barberà, researcher at the Instituto de Biomecánica de Valencia (IBV), and Maria Chiara Leva, lecturer at the Technological University of Dublin. The event provided a stimulating environment where ITF’s corporate partners and guest speakers could discuss about gender bias in databases used for transport policy, as well as some problems and challenges encountered on this particular topic.
Ricard Barberà and Maria Chiara Leva took this opportunity to share knowledge and mention DIAMOND’s experience and importance to overcome some of the challenges related with gender bias in Artificial Intelligence Data in transport sector. During the session, attendees talked about some examples and solutions promoted to overcome the challenges faced by policy makers, researchers and the private sector across different areas of the transport industry.
The International Transport Forum, which has 62 member countries, is an intergovernmental organisation which works for transport policies that improve peoples’ lives, with the aim to foster a deeper understanding of the role of transport in economic growth, environmental sustainability and social inclusion.
